EQUESTRIAN RIDING SCHOOL
Public Lessons, Camps and Trail Rides

Linda Rubio founded her Miwok Livery in 1981, giving thousands of lessons, group and private to adults and children for over three decades. She sold the riding school business in November, 2021 after 40 successful years.

Her Miwok Livery school had 26 school horses, 17 boarders, a staff of ten instructors, assistants and stable hands. She ran popular public programs including Kids Summer Camps, Show Team, Adult lessons in the arenas and on the trail, as well as clinics and guided trail rides.

STABLE MANAGEMENT

Linda Rubio had forty years of experience in stable management and equine business management. She founded, operated and managed the Miwok Stables 43 horses, grounds, buildings and staff at Miwok Stables under agreement with the National Park Service. The Miwok Stables are located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, near the Marin Headlands, minutes north of San Francisco.

COMPLETION RIDES

Competed over 3,000 miles in numerous American Endurance RideConference (AERC) rides , The 100 Mile Western States Trail Ride aka TevisCup (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, and 1992) and completed 1,000-mile Pony Express Challenge, Salt Lake City/ Sacramento (1989).

OUTREACH PROGRAMS FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Linda Rubio founded the Miwok Livery Outreach in 1994,now called the Miwok Stables Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, running along side Miwok Livery. The program provides riding programs to members of the community with special needs who benefit from the therapy of interacting with horses, teaching groups such as the Marin General Hospital Cancer Recovery Unit, and the San Francisco Hunter's Point City of Dreams.
